Are you a confident Band 6 or 7 who would like to explore a more rewarding managerial and clinical challenge in Forensic (low and medium secure) Mental Health Services? Are you ready to further develop your managerial and clinical skills?

You will be responsible in leading the OT team over 5 wards (each ward has their own OT and Activity Co-ordinator). Supervision of x3 Band 6 OTs.

The ward offers a dedicated personality disorder service in a medium secure setting. We deliver care for men with enduring mental health needs, co-morbidity and behaviors which challenge in a calm, therapeutic environment with a focus on service user experience, shared care and safety.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.

In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.

 

Requirements:

  • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • Experienced in the field of adult mental health
  • Working as a Band 6 or Band 7 OT
  • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
  • Able to effectively lead a team
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Passionate about student education
