Consultant Breast Radiologist
The post aims to support the Symptomatic breast radiology service based in London.
The post holder would be working with a team of 2 general radiologists with an interest in Breast, a Breast radiologist as well as a Consultant mammographer. It would be advantageous if the applicant has retained general radiology skills and can join the team in providing on call cover, but this is not essential. The post will be remunerated at 10PAs.
The post is intended
1. To contribute to the symptomatic breast radiology work on both sites and help to future-proof the Breast service of the Trust and assist in achieving all waiting time targets including 2 and 18 week waits. To contribute towards the general radiology work and on call is preferable.
2. To complement the existing expertise within the department
3. To provide teaching to undergraduates, post graduates and trainees in radiology, and radiographers in co-operation with other members of the Consultant staff.
4. To contribute actively to all aspects of the hospital affairs, as deemed appropriate by the Department/Division.
General Responsibilities
1. To provide high quality health care for patients referred for diagnosis and treatment, including outpatients, inpatients.
2. To be actively involved in MDT meetings providing cover for colleagues as required
3. To provide prompt effective advice for General Practitioners and Hospital Doctors.
4. To contribute to regular training and teaching sessions. To participate in educational and audit meetings and meet CPD requirements.
5. To provide cover for Consultant colleagues during periods of annual leave.
6. To support the Hospitals Clinical Governance Strategy and to participate in clinical audit.
7. To contribute to all other aspects of the Division and Hospitals affairs, including relevant Consultant and Directorate meetings.
Qualifications
· MBBS of equivalent
· FRCR or equivalent
Registration
· Full Registration with GMC
· To be on the Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology on the date of commencement in post or to be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT on a UK training program.
Clinical experience
Breast imaging skills with US, mammography, ultrasound guided biopsy and localization procedures, stereotactic biopsy, and vacuum assisted biopsy.
