Do you want to work in a friendly, committed and established Learning Disability and Autism service where your knowledge and skills will be valued? Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist with experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism?

This permanent Consultant Psychiatrist (37.5 hours per week) position will see you join this experienced inpatient service for people aged between 18 and 65 years old.

Our client provides a specialist service for men and women with complex needs who may have a primary diagnosis of learning disability, mental health issue or personality disorder. They are able to support people with complex conditions, needs and risks who display behaviours of concern and pose challenges for services, including those with highly complex and severe challenging behaviours

The environment is a unique element of this service. We provide care in a range of small, shared gender-specific or single person apartments. This allows the treatment and rehabilitation programme to be delivered in a domestic environment which replicates community living more closely than a ward environment. These settings also allow bespoke care to be delivered for the individual and risks and behaviours to be more effectively managed.

You will work alongside an established Multi-Professional Team delivering individualised approaches to the care and treatment of people admitted to the hospital and their families. You have instant access to a large and supportive peer group of like-minded professionals to engage and network with.

There is an on-call element to this role (currently 1 in 4).
