Our client an independent provider of adult mental health services within Greater Manchester, they are currently looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their team.

Within the last 12 months, the hospital has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme to ensure their facilities are unmatched. Recently, the service has opened a Wellness Centre including a coffee shop, high tech gym and its ground-breaking virtual consultation room. Combining outcome focused, personalised care with technological innovation and creativity, the service aims to become a national leader in this arena, providing the best possible care and support to our patients, and are building their team to achieve this goal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering consultant psychiatric input to patients referred to and accepted for treatment by the service in line with the agreed admission criteria. The work will involve the assessment and psychiatric treatment of patients either directly or through the supervision of other team members.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Appropriate qualifications and registration with the GMC
  • A commitment to providing the highest standards of patient care
  • Good communication and team working
  • Self motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Experience of working with complex cases involving personality disorder
  • Significant experience in leading MDT and application of Mental Health Act/ Mental Capacity Act
  • Be fully conversant with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Care Act 2014) and current Care Quality Commission guidance, ensuring that standards are strictly adhered to at all times.


Duties include:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the Hospital working in conjunction with the Registered Manager.
  • Effectively cover the Hospital during core working hours, for emergency and routine work, including decisions regarding new referrals that arrive on a daily basis.
  • Provide assessments of new referrals, formulate diagnoses and treatment plans in consultation with the Team and input from other MDT members.
  • Participate in CPA Care Planning.
  • Provide ongoing clinical care for complex patients.
  • Liaise effectively with external professionals.
  • Participate in the medical on call rota.


On offer is a salary of up to £140k plus additional benefits
