Our client seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist on a 6-month fixed-term contract at a 12 bedded service that offers specialist care that is specifically designed to support women that have a diagnosis of an emerging or personality disorder.

You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team with junior support, providing a therapeutic environment to aid the recovery for each young woman within their journey. The focus of the service is to enable the young women to work on ways to decrease harmful behaviours and replace them with effective strategies to enhance their lives and help them reach their personal life goals.

There is an on-call requirement with this role.

Key Responsibilities of the Consultant Psychiatrist include:

  • Ensure that people admitted are assessed, treated, and discharged safely
  • Medication management
  • Quality assurance, complaints and co-production
  • Delivery of NICE guidance
  • Lead and manage the CPA and ICR process to ensure full compliance with quality standard


Essential qualifications and experience:

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC registration with licence to practice
  • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
  • Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status
  • Clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT.
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
