Our client is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to work in their hospital just outside of London where they have an excellent reputation for providing fast access to high quality treatment for a diverse range of mental health difficulties including addictions, anxiety, depression and stress.

The post provides an unique opportunity for a consultant to work mainly in the general adult setting as well as keeping your addiction knowledge up to date through regular clinical work. This post provides this rare opportunity in this highly fragmented sub-specialised world of Psychiatry.

This is a full-time employed Consultant post to work alongside Visiting Consultants and other employed consultants. The post-holder will provide consultant input for Private and NHS acute general psychiatry patients (and Addictions depending on competencies) within the hospital and on an outpatient basis (including provision of urgent slots for some of these assessments).

Responsibilities include:

  • On-call rota of the hospital and provide cross cover for employed colleagues as required.
  • Take part in relevant clinical governance activities and take on roles as appropriate in the management of the hospital.
  • Work closely with Therapy Services for outpatients and day-patients.
  • Use carenotes as the primary record.
  • The post-holder will have an agreed job plan with the Medical Director/Hospital Director specifying the expected activity levels in terms of the number of sessions of outpatients/inpatients/day patients/management.
