MSI is delighted to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2022 is Lambeth and Southwark Mind, our local branch of the national mental health charity.

How we chose our charity of the year

In 2021, we introduced our new company mission and values. To help direct our work giving back to our community, this year we have chosen to partner with a specific charity to help support their work.

Charities were nominated by our members of staff; a shortlist was drawn up and our charity of the year was collectively chosen through an employee vote.

Why Lambeth and Southwark Mind?

We are delighted that Lambeth and Southwark Mind won the vote for charity of the year. Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem and campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Every year, one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem, and this has only been exacerbated by the pandemic. MSI feel that the work Mind is doing is vital for the welfare of our nation and it has resonated with many individual employees.

Lambeth and Southwark Mind’s mission is to provide free, innovative, long-term services that empower and support everyone experiencing a mental health problem. Services are open to all, with a particular focus on people on low-incomes and those from black and minority ethnic communities. People with lived experience of mental health issues have formed a significant proportion of its workforce since it was founded.

What we’ll be doing

We are planning fundraising activity throughout 2022, driven by our charity champion Ed Jessel, and supported by advocates from within each team at MSI.
