An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Associate Specialist CAMHS Psychiatrist to join a CAMHS Inpatient Service. The service opened at the end of 2023 and has 12 beds for young people between ages of 12 - 18 years.

The associate specialist / speciality doctor will provide clinical assessment, review and evaluation to young people under the care and treatment of the hospital ensuring that all treatment plans are fully adhered to. The doctor will take a specific focus on the assessment and management of both the physical and mental health of young people working closely with the ward manager, consultant and wider MDT.

Key role and responsibilities for the Associate Specialist CAMHS Psychiatrist role:

  • Daily clinical assessment and monitoring of all young people.
  • Risk management and assessment.
  • Physical health assessment.
  • Documentation preparing for CPA's, tribunals and ward rounds.
  • Medical response duty.
  • On-call 1/4 to provide support for the hospital supporting a consultant on-call.

Minimum requirements for the Associate Specialist CAMHS Psychiatrist role are:

  • Experience of CAMHS.
  • GMC registered.
  • Medically qualified with MRCPsych or equivalent.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills .
