As a Locum Haematology and Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality haematology and transfusion services, ensuring patient safety and compliance with NHS and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Performing routine and specialist haematology testing

• Undertaking all aspects of blood transfusion testing, including crossmatching

• Carrying out morphology and coagulation investigations

• Operating and maintaining laboratory analysers, including Ortho Vision systems

• Using laboratory information management systems (WINPATH), with Blood 360 experience desirable

• Ensuring compliance with UKAS, IBMS, and NHS quality standards

• Participating in a 24-hour shift rota as required

Essential Requirements

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist

• Proven experience in haematology and blood transfusion within an NHS laboratory

• Strong competence across morphology, coagulation, and transfusion testing

• Right to work in the UK
