As a Locum Histology Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality histopathology services in line with NHS standards and laboratory protocols. You will work as part of a collaborative laboratory team, contributing to the timely processing and analysis of samples to support accurate clinical diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Performing routine histopathology laboratory duties

• Microtomy sectioning, including mega blocks, single blocks, and core biopsies

• Embedding tissue samples to a high standard

• Carrying out H&E staining (experience with Leica Spectra is desirable)

• Adhering to UKAS, HTA, and NHS quality and safety standards

• Participating in a 24-hour shift rota as required

Essential Requirements

• HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist

• Proven experience within a histopathology laboratory

• Competence in microtomy, embedding, and routine histology techniques

• Right to work in the UK
