As a Locum Histology Biomedical Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality histopathology services in line with NHS standards and laboratory protocols. You will work as part of a collaborative laboratory team, contributing to the timely processing and analysis of samples to support accurate clinical diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities include:
Performing routine histopathology laboratory duties
Microtomy sectioning, including mega blocks, single blocks, and core biopsies
Embedding tissue samples to a high standard
Carrying out H&E staining (experience with Leica Spectra is desirable)
Adhering to UKAS, HTA, and NHS quality and safety standards
Participating in a 24-hour shift rota as required
Essential Requirements
HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
Proven experience within a histopathology laboratory
Competence in microtomy, embedding, and routine histology techniques
Right to work in the UK
