Key Responsibilities:
As a paediatric nurse with MSI Recruitment, your responsibilities will include:
- Identifying changes in a child's signs and symptoms and intervening in emergent situations with prompt and effective care.
- Explaining treatments and procedures in a clear manner to enable parents/carers to provide informed consent.
- Offering support, advice, and education to patients and their close relatives to ensure holistic care.
- Differentiating between normal and abnormal physical findings, providing early intervention when necessary.
- Participating in the administration of medications and injections, ensuring accurate dosage and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
- Assessing and managing a child's pain effectively, with empathy and consideration for their comfort.
- Recognising signs and symptoms of abuse and taking appropriate action to safeguard vulnerable children.
- Providing compassionate end-of-life care to terminally ill children and their families.
- Assisting in preparing patients for surgeries and procedures, ensuring they understand what to expect.
- Proficiently setting up and monitoring drips, blood transfusions, and intravenous infusions.
- Assisting with various tests and evaluations as part of the diagnostic process.
Minimum Requirements for Paediatric Nurses:
To qualify for this role, candidates must have:
- NMC registration.
- A minimum of 6 months' experience working in a paediatric setting.
- A valid DBS certificate.
- Completed PILS (Paediatric Immediate Life Support) training.
- Valid Right to Work documentation.
