Clinical Duties

  • Manage a personal caseload, including assessment, planning and delivering evidence-based mental health interventions.

  • Provide support across the stepped care model, including wellbeing and primary mental health interventions.

  • Work collaboratively with primary care, substance misuse teams and prison staff.

  • Arrange referrals, aftercare, and coordinated support with external services.

  • Maintain high standards of documentation, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant legislation including the Mental Health Act.

  • Deliver safe, compassionate care to individuals with a range of complex mental health needs.

Liaison & Multi-Agency Working

  • Participate in MDT meetings, case reviews and MAPPA discussions.

  • Build strong working relationships with healthcare, prison, statutory and voluntary partners.

  • Promote continuity of care and accessibility of mental health services.

Leadership & Professional Standards

  • Support service improvement and assist the Team Manager with clinical objectives.

  • Provide guidance, leadership and supervision to junior staff where required.

  • Demonstrate excellent time management, prioritisation and professional boundaries.

  • Support incident reporting, risk management and quality governance processes.

Communication & Governance

  • Maintain accurate, timely electronic records in line with NMC and NHS standards.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, colleagues and partner agencies.

  • Contribute to audits, quality improvement and adherence to CQC standards.

Risk Assessment & Safeguarding

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement appropriate risk management plans.

  • Recognise and respond to crisis situations, safeguarding concerns and vulnerabilities.

  • Work within health and safety requirements to maintain a safe environment for all.
