MSI Recruitment is currently collaborating with an NHS Trust located in South West England, actively seeking experienced Psychiatrists to enhance their dedicated teams. As a prominent NHS community and mental health provider, the Trust is deeply committed to delivering comprehensive care, emphasising both physical and mental well-being. Their services extend to providing specialised support for individuals grappling with dementia and learning disabilities.

The Trust boasts a workforce of approximately 4,000 professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, administrators, and support staff. Their work encompasses diverse settings, from people's homes and community clinics to various bases. Additionally, some team members operate from the Trust's 10 community hospitals, serving a population exceeding 500,000 residents in the region.

Main Responsibilities:

  • The SAS (Specialty and Specialist) Dr will provide support to the Local MDT (multidisciplinary team) and Consultant psychiatrist as the main job role.
  • The post will be based at the nominated location and will have office space, along with Medical Secretarial time at this base.
  • The team is committed to the prompt assessment and treatment of children and adolescents and their families, emphasising multi-disciplinary working.
  • Treatment coordination involves a wide range of psychological interventions as well as medical psychiatric treatment when appropriate, often requiring liaison with colleagues in other agencies to establish the best care package for the individual child or family.
  • The SAS Dr will primarily work jointly with other members of the team to provide consultation and psychiatric assessment, while also engaging in liaison and collaboration with services to safeguard children.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years of psychiatry experience.
  • MRCPsych qualification.
  • Experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Section 12 approval.
