MSI Recruitment is proud to partner with an esteemed NHS Trust situated in South West England, actively seeking skilled Psychiatrists to bolster their dedicated teams. As a leading NHS community and mental health provider, the Trust is deeply committed to delivering comprehensive care, with a focus on both physical and mental well-being. Their services extend to providing specialised support for individuals grappling with dementia and learning disabilities.

The Trust boasts a workforce of approximately 4,000 professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, administrators, and support staff. Their work spans diverse settings, from people's homes and community clinics to various bases. Additionally, some team members operate from the Trust's 10 community hospitals, serving a population exceeding 500,000 residents in the region.

Moreover, the Trust offers exemptions for IELTS or OET requirements and facilitates GMC registration for eligible candidates.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a psychiatrist for individuals with dementia referred from within the allocated catchment area, within a multidisciplinary team setting, and those with mental health problems related to aging.
  • Deliver outpatient services within the catchment area.
  • Conduct a blend of face-to-face reviews in outpatient clinics, home visits, and utilise alternative technologies such as telephone reviews and video consultations.
  • Contribute to the formulation and management of complex cases, providing support to team members.
  • Foster close working relationships with colleagues in inpatient services concerning the care of patients from within their patch. Close collaboration with the Home Treatment Team regarding the medical care of catchment area patients is also essential.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with colleagues in various other community teams to enhance patient care at these interfaces, including liaison psychiatry.
  • Take an active role in the Memory Assessment Service, a diagnostic service for patients with dementia. Collaborate with patients, their families, carers, and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive support to patients with dementia in the community.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4 years of psychiatry experience.
  • MRCPsych qualification.
  • Experience in Older Adult Psychiatry.
  • Section 12 approval.
