Junior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine

Hours: 40 per week

Salary: £43, 923 p/annum

Contract: 1 year

I am working closely with an NHS Trust in South Yorkshire who are a combined acute and community provider with more than 4,500 members of staff.

An opportunity has arisen for junior doctor's post F2 to gain or consolidate experience of emergency medicine.

You will be contracted 40 hours weekly in a friendly district General ED/trauma unit caring for both adults and children.

Duties of the post will be equivalent to F2/ST1/ST2 Doctor.

25% of paid time will be available to develop and pursue special interests in:

  • Quality Improvement
  • Ultrasound
  • Medical Education and Simulation
  • Green ED
  • Urgent/Primary Care

Responsibilities for the Junior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine will be:

  • Take part in the Junior Doctor rota with 75% of their time being for clinical duties.
  • Assess and manage all categories of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, under the supervision of the Emergency Department Consultants.
  • Responsible to the Consultants in Emergency Medicine, in the management of all patients presenting to the department.
  • Additional responsibilities will be in line with the chosen fellowship interest(s) of the successful candidates.

Minimum requirements for the Junior Clinical Fellow in Emergency Medicine are:

  • Full GMC registration.
  • Post FY2.
  • 1 year experience working in the NHS as a Doctor.
  • Experience working in UK Emergency Medicine is desirable but not essential.
  • 25% self directed time to pursue special interests.
  • Options include: QI, Ultrasound, Med ED, Green ED and Urgent Primary Care.
