Specialty Doctor in Same Day Emergency Care - Acute Medicine

Salary: £52,530 rising to £82,400 per annum (depending upon experience)

I am working closely with an NHS Trust in South Yorkshire who are a combined acute and community provider with more than 4,500 members of staff.

As a Specialty Doctor within the SDEC, Acute Medicine service, you will have the opportunity to work within a specialty interest in one of the following areas:

  • Cardiology
  • Respiratory
  • Diabetes & Endocrinology
  • Gastroenterology
  • Health Care for the Elderly (including Stroke)

Responsibilities for the Specialty Doctor in Same Day Emergency Care - Acute Medicine

will be:

  • Responsible for Same Day Emergency Care patients and your relevant area of specialist interest.
  • Support the embedding of new innovated ways and make the services more efficient for the patients and pathways between both Emergency Medicine and Acute Medicine.
  • Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
  • In conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues, to take responsibility for and devote time to teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required for junior medical staff.

Minimum requirements for the Specialty Doctor in Same Day Emergency Care - Acute Medicine

are:

  • Full GMC registration.
  • Full MRCP or equivalent.
  • 4 years postgraduate training or equivalent in a specialty training programme or as a fixed term specialty training post.
  • Evidence of audit and the implementation of change following an audit.
